70% of rural women in Nasarawa and Abuja (Nigeria) live below the poverty line. Over 40% of children from these regions cannot afford school fees due to conflict and poverty.
Collaborative Peace farming initiatives can increase household incomes by up to 60%, according to rural development studies. Interfaith peacebuilding initiatives have proven to reduce conflicts in communities by over 30%, creating safer environments for families. The women will be trained to use farming and entrepreneurship as tools to generate income, support their families, pay children’s school fees, and promote interfaith harmony.
Many survivors struggle to feed their families, trapped in camps with no means to rebuild. The Peace Farming organized by Youths for Peace Building & Development in Africa to equip these women with seeds, tools, and trauma healing; restoring hope and food security. Farming offers a peaceful alternative to conflict-driven survival strategies like begging, sextortion and unsafe migration.
We’re raising $5,200 to establish a 1-hectare community garden that will give women in underserved communities a safe, fertile, and permanent space to grow crops, feed their families, and build financial independence. This garden isn’t just about food — it’s about dignity, empowerment, and sustainability.
Women in this program will receive tools, training, seeds, and continued support from The Outlet team. In a country where access to land is deeply unequal and food insecurity remains a daily challenge, this garden will be a source of life, leadership, and local resilience.
