Frequently Asked Questions

Supporting Causes

Do I pay microgiv directly?

Nope! Microgiv doesn’t touch your money. Pledges go straight to the cause’s payment link (Venmo, Zelle, etc).

What if I forget to pay?

That’s why we send reminders. You choose how often and by what method. Calendar, email, SMS — up to you.

Do I get auto-charged?

No, unless you choose to pay via credit card and explicitly turn this on. We only remind you on the schedule you select and give you a link to tap to fulfill it.

Is my pledge public?

No. We don’t display donor names. Only the cause organizer can see your pledge info, and only if you opt in.

What happens when a cause reaches its goal?

The campaign closes. You’ll get a notification and reminders stop automatically.

Can I cancel or change my pledge?

Yes — the donor dashboard to manage everything is in the works.

For now, just reply to your reminder or contact us. We’ll update or remove your pledge. No drama.

Why not use GoFundMe or Patreon?

Those are great for some situations/causes. We focus on regular giving in smaller increments— this puts supporting your favorite causes within reach.

We’re leaner, faster, more direct.

How much do you take?

Nothing. Zero. All your support goes to the cause organizer.

The next logical question is how is that possible?

Glad you asked. microgiv is supported by causes posted here too. We’re still setting up, but soon we’ll let you know how you can contribute to this platform if you support our work.

Posting a Cause

What types of causes can be posted?

Anything that is a true need that has a specific, attainable goal can be posted*.

* it also needs to conform with our policies, but you already knew that 🙂

Do I need to be an establish non-profit organization.

No. Anyone who wishes to raise money to support a cause may submit a cause.

Are causes moderated?

Absolutely. A human will review your cause and ensure it’s allowable before it is published.

How many causes can I generate?

At this time, we limit the number of running causes an organizer may publish to 3. But, once a cause has closed, you may submit another!
